History Lesson: Egypt’s Christians - 2,000 Years of Persecution

They say those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Here is a quick history lesson from the fine folks at International Christian Concern. Please check out their website at www.persecution.org after watching this brief video.

Video Description: Did you know that Egypt used to be a Christian nation? Under the rule of Rome, believers in Egypt suffered under terrible persecution at the hands of Roman leaders. When the Muslim warriors entered the picture many years later, Egypt gave in with little resistance, thinking that anything would be better than the Roman leaders.

Unfortunately, that has led to over 1,400 years of persecution. For century after century, Christians in Egypt have struggled to practice their faith in peace, and that hasn't stopped in recent days.

Today, I ask that you would please take set aside a moment to pray for our brothers and sisters in Egypt. Their faithfulness amidst the years of trials is inspiring to those both in the persecuted and the free church.
