Coronavirus Updates

By Timothy Gamble

5-5-2020 - According to the latest updates by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC),  7,285,178  people have been tested for Covid-19 in the United States so far, with over 200,000 new tests being given daily. Only about 16.2% of people tested have the coronavirus, with 1,180,634 tests being positive. As the number of tests given increases, the percentage of those testing positive is declining.

There are currently 68,934 deaths attributed to Covid-19 in the United States. However, this total is likely somewhat inflated. According to the CDC, this preliminary death total includes not only deaths confirmed to be from Covid-19, but also deaths from suspected or presumed cases, some of which may not actually be from Covid-19.

Ad: Emergency Food Storage & Survival Handbook, by Peggy Layton, has detailed information and lists for everything from an emergency car kit, to a 72-hour emergency kit (aka "bug out" kit), to building stockpiles of food, water, medicine and other necessities. Included in the book is a section on ideas for apartment dwellers and others with little storage space. LEVEL:  Beginner to Intermediate. I consider this a CORE BOOK for most preppers.
