Good News: 101-year-old Italian Man Recocvers from Coronavirus!

By Timothy Gamble

4-1-2020 - Here's a bit of good news: A 101-year-old Italian man, born during the Spanish Flu pandemic and having survived two worlds wars, is now the oldest Italian to have successfully recovered from Covid-19. He may be the oldest person anywhere to have recovered from the virus.

"Mr. P," as he is identified in media reports, was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago, after being diagnosed with Covid-19. He was released Thursday, March 26, after a surprisingly fast recovery. Covid 19 has killed over 12,000 Italians so far, with the elderly being particular hard hit. Over 85% of all deaths from the virus in Italy are from those over 70 years of age, according to health officials.
