Wuhan Coronavirus Updates - Two deaths in Iran; First case in Israel

By Timothy Gamble

7:00 PM Update: Italy has reported its first coronavirus death.

2-21-2020 -  Iran reported two more deaths from the Wuhan coronavirus earlier today. This brings to four the number of deaths in Iran from the coronavirus. Iran is reporting a total of 18 confirmed cases.

Israel confirmed its first case of the coronavirus today. The patient, now in quarantine, is among 11 returnees to Israel from the Diamond Princess cruise ship. The others all tested negative for the virus, and are in a 14-day quarantine.

Worldwide, there are 76,798 confirmed cases* of the Wuhan coronavirus, officially named Covid 19, with 2,250 deaths*, as of 2:00 pm updates.

Data sources: Johns Hopkins CSSEWHO, CDC, ECDC, NHC, and DXY.

* China is severly under-reporting the true extent of the outbreak, according to most experts. Information leaking out of China indicates the real numbers of cases and deaths are likely 4X-5X the "official" numbers.
