Coronavirus Updates

2-13-2020 - Within the last 24 hours, the CDC announced two new US cases of the coronavirus, one each in California and Texas. This brings the number of confirmed cases in the US to 15. 

Japan announced it first death from the coronavirus earlier today. China also claimed another 4,000 confirmed cases and 120 deaths. Worldwide, the official numbers are now 64,418 confirmed cases and 1,491 deaths. [Update 10:00 am: Overnight, the total number of official deaths was adjusted downward to 1,384. A reason for this correction was not immediately available.]

Worldwide Death Toll: 1,491 (1,488 in mainland China, 1 in Hong Kong, 1 in the Philippines, 1 in Japan)

Confirmed Cases in US: 15

States with Confirmed Cases: California (8),  Illinois (2), Arizona (1), Massachusetts (1), Texas (1), Washington (1), Wisconsin (1)

Countries with Confirmed Cases: China, Hong Kong, United States, Canada, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan,  Macau, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Italy, Finland, United Arab Emirates, India, Russia, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, the UK, and the Philippines.
