Iran Retaliates - Apparently To No Effect

1-7-2020 - As expected, Iran has retaliated for the airstrike that killed their top general. Earlier tonight, Iran launched 15 ballistic missiles at U.S. bases in Iraq. Four of the missiles failed, and eleven hit their targets. The Pentagon has stated that there are no U.S. causalities, as the missiles were tracked by radar and U.S. forces had time to move out of the way. The U.S. did not attempt to intercept the missiles. There are mixed reports about the possibility of Iraqi causalities.

After the attack, President Donald Trump tweeted the following statement:  "All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning."

As with all breaking news events, details are subject to change as new information becomes available and old information is clarified.
